- 2 cups of water
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil, almond oil or coconut oil
- 2 tablespoons of your favorite natural baby wash
- 2 drops of tea tree oil
- 2-4 drops of lavender essential oil
Use in a disposable wipe box with pre-folded cloth wipes or put in a spray bottle to easily apply to a dry wipe or wash cloth as needed. I prefer the spray bottle method so I can use sparingly for small messes and spray right onto the bum for bigger messes.
- 5 gallons of water
- 1 bar of un-scented soap i.e. ivory or dove
- 1 cup of arm & hammer washing soda
- 1/2 cup of Borax
Fill a 5 gallon container with water and mix in the washing soda and borax. Shred a bar of soap into small pieces and melt in a pot with a small amount of water on the stove. Pour melted soap into the solution and stir well. Let the solution gel overnight. Mix well and using a funnel pour solution into an empty laundry detergent container. Shake well before each use and use 1 Cup per load. This recipe is suitable for HE front load washing machines.
For mother’s day one year, I filled a basket with a variety of homemade items including wine, bread, jam and of course… laundry detergent! I poured some into a mason jar and cut some dish clothes into squares with pinking shears. I used raffia to tie the cloth over the mason jar cover and attached a label with directions for use. This would also make a great hostess gift!
